1946 – 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder, John Fifield FRICS who sadly passed away on 21 January 2025 following a short stay in hospital.
John Fifield established Fifield Glyn Chartered Surveyors in 1975 in Manchester with his late wife, Ros. He was a very well respected Chartered Surveyor who had practised for almost 60 years, specialising in commercial property, expert witness and third party disputes.
In addition to his work at Fifield Glyn he was the joint founder of the Osborne House Group, which established the very successful Gadbrook Park in Cheshire in 1984 together with other property projects across England and Wales.
He was Chairman of the Greater Manchester Branch of RICS in 1990 and President of the Manchester Society of Land Agents & Surveyors in 2001. He was also a strong supporter and mentor for the Prince’s Trust for many years.
John’s legacy will continue at both Fifield Glyn and Osborne House Group. He will be greatly missed, especially by his 3 children; Edward Fifield who is Managing Director of both Fifield Glyn and Osborne House Group, Charles Fifield who is their Company Secretary and Victoria Mead who works closely with both companies.
