The combined efforts of the Gadbrook Park BID group provided
a splendid Christmas celebration for several hundred Gadbrook Park employees on Thursday 20th December 2012.
The Arabica Cafe staff set the scene with their usual
panache and bonhomie dispensing mulled wine and mince pies. Lead contributions
came from Weaver Vale Housing staff with Christmas goodies for children and a
visit from Father Christmas who had been working away in his grotto at WVHT
head office and who broke away at this busy time to say hello to everyone.
Staff from H&M Disinfectants created a special red
gazebo entrance for the Arabica Cafe on this festive day.
The 7 piece ensemble Salvation Army band led by Captain
Imogen got everyone in the festive spirit with an hour’s performance of
traditional favourites from the carol song book.
As the mulled wine flowed and the Roberts Bakery Gingerbread
men were devoured a wonderful collective feel good factor descended over
Gadbrook Park.
During the festivities 6 food parcels for distribution by
the Salvation Army was presented by staff from Howard Worth which was much
appreciated.
The crowning glory of this Christmas celebration was the
youngsters and staff from Chrysalis Day Nursery entertaining the crowded room
with a selection of inspiring Christmas songs and carols. Children from the
nursery resplendent in wonderful costumes sang heartily and closed the happy
proceedings by having an audience with Father Christmas.
The celebrations raised in total £240.44 for the Salvation
Army. A big thank you to all who made this very festive afternoon.
