Residential Leasehold Enfranchisement

Residential Leasehold Enfranchisement

The Leasehold Reform Act 1967 gives long leaseholders of residential houses the right to extend their Lease or purchase the freehold of the property.

Furthermore, the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 also provides for Long Lessees of residential blocks either to extend their Leases or collectively enfranchisement (provided by the Freeholder of their block along with their fellow Lessees).

This is a complex area of legislation and valuation which can be time consuming for both the Freeholder and Leasholder.

Fifield Glyn Residential Property Management  are able to offer Clients specialist advice in relation to this area.
